An exclusive collaborative release between skatewear powerhouse Vans and Los Angeles skate shop Lotties, these blue and black Sk8-Hi Pro Shoes from Vans actively combine both party’s passion for skate with a highly-energised and eclectic aesthetic. Upgraded for enhanced performance, these high-top skate shoes are styled with navy blue coloured uppers made from smooth suede and reinforced canvas, whilst the design’s Pro Vulc Lite construction and its PopCush sockliner work together in unison to ensure a more comfort-minded layer of impact protection when paired with any high-octane skate style. The single-wrap foxing tape fuses seamlessly with the DURACAP rubber underlays for added durability whilst Vans’ iconic Waffle outsole is designed to provide multi-directional traction and tread from first wear. To help promote active air-circulation perforation around the toe box complements the white stitching, whilst a single white eyelet is joined by a recessed 7-eyelet lacing system to help keep the flat cotton laces securely fastened across the branded tongue. A play on the traditional design, a dark zine-art inspired ‘Lotties’ design decorates the layered midfoot panelings above Vans’ iconic white side stripe decal, a feature that is uplifted by etched-in ‘Griptape is $5 Dickhead’ scripture – a tongue-in-cheek reference to the skate shops ballsy energy. Classic white-on-red ‘Vans’ branding can be seen on a woven label underneath the side-stripe, across the rubberised heel stamp and on the owner Gigliotti’s artwork-etched insoles, whilst burnt red pin-line flames are added to the crisp white midsole for added flair and character with jagged-edge ‘Lotties’ debossed branding across the brushed blue heel panels for added notoriety and impact.
Inspired by ‘old Ray Barbee footage’ and by a desire to combine classic colours with Lotties’ artistic creativity, these limited edition Sk8-Hi Pro Shoes effortlessly showcase owner Mike Gigliotti’s visionary direction and passion for all things skate. A collaboration designed to celebrate the importance of independent skate shops, both Lotties and Vans work tirelessly to put self-expression and community-led initiatives back on the map.
