This shoe reminds me of the old days when me, Guido, and a couple of our friends worked the door in an Irish pub.  On really busy Friday nights we’d help out behind the bar, although none of us knew how to bartend.  A proper black and tan is made by pouring half a glass of Bass Ale, then carefully pouring half a draught Guinness over an upside down teaspoon on top of the Ale.   If poured properly, the Guinness will sit on top of the the Bass forming two fairly distinct layers (hence the black and tan).  The ones we made did not come out like that.
