We’re psyched to introduce Iris Skateboards to Rhode Island, and it’s about time because Iris owner, George Rocha not only grew up in Pawtucket, but he is also an old friend of ours. George was very active in the Providence skateboard scene back in the Luna Sea era, and he eventually came over to work with us at Smitty’s in the mid 90’s.
After moving to San Francisco, George took advantage of his network within the skateboard industry to salvage used and broken skateboards, which he now turns into beautiful handmade cruisers. Check out the video for a glimpse into the production process.
